The Table / The Dinners

The Dinners

The Society keeps its Dinners often, and across many cities. The Circle keeps its own, and keeps them differently.

A Circle dinner seats fewer than a dozen, always at one table, always in a room chosen for the evening and not before. There is no invitation list beyond the table itself: a member of the Circle is told the city and the date, and arrives to find the rest already seated. No photograph is taken. No name is confirmed afterward, even to other members of the Society.

What is served, and what is discussed, is not published here or anywhere. That is the point of the table.

One chair is always left as it was found: pulled slightly out.

The Door In

Circle dinners are drawn from the Circle. The door in is the Society.
